February 23, 2022 (DeeD) – Watersprite Film Festival, or Cambridge International Student Film Festival, has announced the 2022 nominees.
The 13th Watersprite Film Festival, or Cambridge International Student Film Festival, has unveiled the full list of the 2022 nominees, according the official announcement on the festival website. 40 Movies have been honored with (52) nominations in 13 award categories of the British festival. The 13th edition of the Watersprite Film Festival will announce the 2022 award winners on March 6, 2022.
Watersprite Film Festival is the UK’s largest international student film festival, and the second largest in the world. The Watersprite festival aims to provide a creative, vibrant, and inclusive space for the filmmakers of the next generation.
The Watersprite Film Festival has received 1,400 submissions from 100 countries, the organizers reported. Movies from all continents have been submitted to take part in the 2022 edition of the festival, among which, 40 movies were selected for screening at the festival.
3 movies have been nominated for the Red Arrow Studios Fiction Award:
‘In Deutschland,’ by Mushayija Rath;
‘Neon Phantom,’ by Leonardo Martinelli;
‘Apnoe,’ by Julia Ketelhut.
The Documentry Award section of the 2022 Watersprite Film Festival features 4 nominees:
‘Broken,’ by Nan Khin San Win;
‘Turning Man,’ by Robin Trouillet;
‘My Family’s Postcards,’ by Hideki Onodera;
‘Skeleton of a Moth,’ by Emma Kay Smith.
In the Animation Award section of the 2022 Watersprite Film Festival, the 4 nominees are:
‘Do Not Feed the Pigeons,’ by Antonin Niclass;
‘Fish,’ by Parisa Jafari;
‘Sommerregen,’ by Julia Skala, Oscar Jacobson;
‘Red Shoes,’ by Anna Paděrová.
4 movies have been honored with Casarotto Ramsay Directing Award:
‘Stagnant Water,’ by Coraline Zorea;
‘Frozen Out,’ by Hao Zhou;
‘Neon Phantom,’ by Leonardo Martinelli;
‘About my family during pandemic,’ by Javier Robles Álvarez.
4 screenplays have received nomination for the Independent Talent Group Screenplay Award:

In United Agents Performance Award section of the 2022 Watersprite Film Festival, the movies have received nominations:
