The 52nd Tampere Film Festival has unveiled the lineup in the international competition for 2022 edition, the organizers announced on the festival’s website.
The Tampere Film Festival, now in its 52nd year, is scheduled to take place from March 9-13, 2022 in Tampere, Finland. Tampere Film Festival is recognized by Academy Awards, BAFTA, European Film Awards.
64 short films from 43 countries has been selected to go on screen in the International Competition of the 2022 Tampere Film Festival, according to the official announcement. A total number of 6, 912 films were submitted for the 2022 edition of the festival. 25, (39 %), of the selected films were directed by females. 35 films, (55 %), of the selected films were directed by males, and 4, (6%), of the selected films were co-directions. Members of the selection committee were Liina Härkönen, Jukka-Pekka Laakso, and Riina Mikkonen.

The festival program consists of competitions, special programs and public and industry events. In addition to short films, the festival showcases feature-length documentaries, silent films, and, on occasion, also feature-length fiction films. The guiding principles in choosing program content for the festival are the aesthetic, ethical, as well as the stylistic and narrative qualities of the films.
