Media Arts Council and Media Fright Fest Presents: 2022 Media Fright Fest and Delco’s Arcade of Unearthly Delights

September 13, 2022 (MEDIA, PA) – Once again that haunting time of the year is upon us and our senses are in autumn overdrive. Pumpkin spice scented air, deafening screams and shrieks heard everywhere, frightening sights of skulls and monsters, and tasting ghoulish desserts and chocolates. The best though is the eerie feeling that makes your skin crawl and hair stand up. Do you know what this all means? It means Halloween is approaching and we want to celebrate with you at Media Fright Fest on October 8!

We have such sights to show you on this day of wicked fun! Starting at 2:00 p.m., we will showcase Delco’s Arcade of Unearthly Delights, which features local artisans and their creepy and macabre products. Tamme McClelland, Media Fright Fest Programming Director loves “being a part of Media Fright Fest as both a Program Director and vendor since it ties together my love of horror films and images in my craft.” Karen Chiarini, Media Fright Fest Co-Chair is “looking forward to pre-gaming by shopping for some unique items.”

As the evening embraces us, grab your concessions, get comfy, and sit back for two 90-minute blocks of ominous and foreboding horror short films starting at 7:00 p.m. Chiarini is “happily surprised every year at the film submissions we receive and review. It never fails that I am awestruck at how much of a story can be told in a matter of minutes.” Lisa Pietras, Media Fright Fest Co-Chair is “happy to be part of a committee that embraces the horror and macabre genre. We bring talented, local artisans and international filmmakers together to celebrate all that is spooky, weird, and wonderful. Media Fright Fest is Delco’s home for horror.”

Media Fright Fest is excited to celebrate independent horror filmmakers. This year we have 17 indie horror shorts from eight countries (Austria, Belarus, Canada, France, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, and United States). Various genres will be represented, such as psychological horror, serial killers, creatures, folk tales, comedy/horror, and more. We may even have a surprise filmmaker, or two, that will attend.

Tickets are $25 for both in-person and virtual and are available at MACFrightFest.org.
