The world is ticking! A countdown to collapse or the metronome of the zeitgeist? Whatever it is, you’ll find it echoing throughout the program of the 38th edition of INTERFILM. In six competitions, filmmakers reflect on all the burning issues of our times: global justice and colonial heritage, climate change and the changing environment, representation, personal development and political participation – and, incidentally, the desire for life, love and everything that makes us human. In between all these themes, two contradictory forces shape the topography of our society: rampant global capitalism versus progressive forces of solidarity and their struggle for change, for a better tomorrow.
The extensive festival program is now online, ticket pre-sales have begun – we especially recommend the five-ticket pass, which can also be used by groups. Check this: The festival will be playing new exciting venues!
A few program recommendations: At Eject, it’s going to get colorful, lively and strange again, as the Long Night of Weird Shorts returns to the hallowed halls of the Volksbühne. Sound & Vision also plays the same venerable stage at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz: where 9 highly diverse bands perform their own compositions to 9 short films live in front of an audience. FullDome, our immersive event with virtual reality films in the large dome of the Zeiss Planetarium, usually sells out quickly. Furthermore, 6 competitions invite you to experience the most outstanding short films of the last two years, this year’s focus looks at the Philippines and Ghosts of Europe holds a mirror to the EU. Various special programs round off the program.
Head over to interfilm.de to check out the cream of the crop of INTERFILM’s 38th edition and get your tickets now!
If you really want to get the most out of the short film week, we recommend our accreditation for professionals for € 35. It gives you access to all INTERFILM events, including the major events at the Volksbühne and the INTERFORUM professional development and networking events.
And that’s not all: For film and media students, this all-inclusive, all-round package is available through student accreditation for as little as 25 euros!
You’d rather go to the cinema with 4 friends? Then the five-ticket pass is what you need. This can also be used for five individual tickets to different events or any other constellation that can be created with five blank tickets.
KUKI is also ready to go:
While the KUKI competition and special programs are aimed at young and very young audiences, everyone is welcome to attend all the cool programs and events. School screenings are selling out fast!
KUKI shows at Filmtheater am Friedrichshain, City Kino Wedding, Zeiss Großplanetarium, ACUDkino, Pfefferberg Haus 13 and at Unterfilm Clubkino.
