Durban International Film Festival 2022 award winners

Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) has announced the complete list of award winners for 2022 festival, which took place in Durban (KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa) from July 21-30.

Durban International Film Festival (DIFF), the South Africa’s longest-running film festival,  is an annual film festival that takes place in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa. Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) is an Academy Award® qualifying festival for the documentary feature film categories. Winners of Best International Documentary Film and Best South African Documentary Film will be eligible for consideration in the Documentary Feature Film category of the Academy Awards® without the standard theatrical run, provided the films otherwise complies with the Academy Rules.

Artistic Bravery Award

Winner: “No U-Turn” (France, Nigeria, South Africa), Directed by Ike Nnabue

Annual Amnesty Award

Winner: “Batata” (Lebanon), Directed by Noura Kevorkian

Best Supporting Performer

Winner: Babetida Sadjo for her performance in “Juwaa” (Belgium), Directed by Nganji Mutiri

Best Cameo Performer

Winner: Ricky Kofi Adelayitar & Brimah Watara for their roles in “Public Toilet Africa” (Ghana), Directed by Felix (Kofi) Ofosu-Yeboah
