Lei Yuan Bin’s BABY QUEEN to anchor SGIFF’s annual fundraiser
Tickets are going fast for the 33rd edition of the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF), which runs from November 24 to December 4, 2022. Just added to the line-up is BABY QUEEN (rated R21) by Singaporean filmmaker LEI Yuan Bin, who is known for 03-FLATS (2014), which competed in Busan, and I Dream of Singapore (2019), which premiered at the Berlinale. Baby Queen is his fifth feature and premiered recently at the Busan International Film Festival 2022.

Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) announces its full 2022 programme
This year, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival will screen 232 features and 230 short films from 75 countries. As of today, the full PÖFF program is public and ticket sales have begun. In total, the festival, which opens on November 11, has five competition and 13 special programs featuring 78 world and 48 international premieres - a new record. For the first time, a new competition program Critics' Picks is planned - covering the most recent trends in film art selected by the experienced film critics and theorists in the festival's programming team.

The RE:U:NITE Gala returns during the 22nd edition of the Whistler Film Festival (WFF) with an extraordinary celebration of film and music. Earlier this evening, the IDFA Forum Awards were announced in Felix Meritis. Kani Lapuerta's project Niñxs won the IDFA Forum Award for Best Pitch, Alison O'Daniel's The Tuba Thieves took home the IDFA Forum Award for Best Rough Cut, and the DocLab Forum Award went to We Speak Their Names In Hushed Tones by Omoregie Osakpolor. Each award includes a cash prize of €1,500. The Tuba Thieves will also receive closed captioning and subtitles from inVision Subtitling.
